Assistant or Associate Professor - Tenure/Clinician Educator Track - CHOP/University of Pennsylvania
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator track or the tenure track. Responsibilities include leading independent and collaborative human research in pediatric mental health and development of a research program involving synergistic interactions with other clinical and preclinical neurodevelopment scientists at CHOP and the University of Pennsylvania, and teaching and mentoring students, trainees, residents, and interns. Additional responsibilities may include clinical activities within the department and associated organizations. Applicants must have excellent qualifications in research, including independent external funding and high impact publications. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research, clinical care, and education.
The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at CHOP had over 40,000 patient contacts in 2017, and is investing substantially in the infrastructure and faculty to build upon our world-class pediatric mental health research. We have a particular interest in research in the areas of mood disorders, anxiety, and eating disorders within pediatric populations.
Potential research modalities include clinical trials, longitudinal risk factor studies, brain imaging, and genetic or metabolic studies seeking to improve specialized treatments.
